Help us build a medical simulation center at UCMB

From 1976 to 2008, Dr. William Thomas Kent trained Paraguay's first emergency medical responders and EMTs. Dr. Kent went on to establish the first emergency department in Paraguay at Centro Médico Bautista (CMB). His pioneering work helped create emergency care systems that extended beyond Asunción into rural communities, laying a foundation for emergency medicine in Paraguay.

Over four decades, Dr. Thomas and Judi Kent served as missionaries with the International Mission Board at CMB. Through emergency medicine, mobile medical clinics, nursing education, discipleship, and church planting, they invested in countless lives throughout Paraguay.

Today, we have an opportunity to build on their legacy.

The Thomas Kent Fund

The Thomas Kent Fund supports the advancement of emergency medicine in Paraguay. The Fund is putting this mission into action through the development of a Medical Simulation Center at Universidad Centro Médico Bautista (UCMB) in Asunción, Paraguay.

The center will provide hands-on, simulation-based education for nursing students, medical students, resident physicians, practicing physicians, and allied health professionals.

Simulation allows healthcare professionals to practice critical skills, clinical decision-making, communication, and life-saving procedures in a safe learning environment before caring for actual patients.
